Great Whites have just had their next bright idea with the Attack series being released. The Attack series are a set of light bars and round spotlights sporting both 10W &5W LEDs, and in the 220mm driving light variant, one lux at 1020m with a pair of lights. Each light throws out a rather impressive 7920 effective lumens, and will run from 11V all the way up to 32V – so they’ll happily run on a 24V system. They’re covered by Great Whites three-year warranty, and have a bunch of extras available for them including both 12 & 24V wiring kits and a single rocker switch upgrade.

ARB SOFT SHACKLE

Upping the ante on the safety front, ARB have released their Soft Connect Shackle. The soft shackles that resemble a piece of winch rope tied up are one of the greatest accessories for minimising risk during a recovery. Rated to 14.5 tonnes and made for use on vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes in weight, they remove the 5kg piece of steel we usually use to attach a strap to our vehicles. The new shackles will float in water (and mud!) and are UV resistant to ensure they don’t deteriorate over years of use.

SUPERIOR ENGINEERING 79 SERIES COIL CONVERSION

We all know the rear-end of the 79’s flex about as well as a 20-year-old Woolies shopping trolley, so the folks over at Superior Engineering have released a fully welded coil spring conversion package. With the welding side of the kit you’re gaining a much stronger option over a bolt-in kit, plus being a fully fitted kit at Superior’s workshop, it is approved with mod-plate upon installation. It gives a solid 2-inch lift as standard, however will work with up to five inches of lift. The kit comes with everything you need for installation (with NCOP VSB pre-approval paperwork if you want to do it yourself), including two-inch lifted coils Nitro gas shocks, sway bar kit, upper and lower control arms, as well as side chassis bracing.

Heading into the colder months there’s a good chance the old flanno from the back of the cupboard just won’t cut it in a High Country snow storm. The folks over at Vigilante have just announced their newest addition to the line-up – the Power Down Jacket. Made from polyester and feather down it’s literally light as a feather. The quilted down is fully woven, so there’s no stitching for the heat to get out, or the cold to get in. It’s got a water repellent coating to keep you dry, and even comes with its own stuff bag for when you’re done with it plus it’s abrasion resistant, so it’s tough as nails!

TERRAIN TAMER MODIFIED RATIO GEAR SETS

Just released by Terrain Tamer are a set of modified ratio gear sets for a bunch of Toyota, Suzuki and Nissan vehicles. They are built to give around 15% increase or reduction in gearing through the transfer case. A reduction to gearing obviously helps give more power for off-road activities like rock crawling, and steep climbs and descents. An increase in gearing, however, will allow lower revs on the blacktop, which works great for the big V8 ‘Cruisers, and turbo diesel trucks.
